What is screw conveyer ?

Usually screw conveyer is called auger which is used to transport bulk materials by screw flights’ rotation along auger’s shell.
Screw conveyer is made up of main three parts :auger body +inlet & outlet + drive device,see form 1 as below :

Auger body is consist of head bearing,tail bearing,hanger bearing,auger shell,baseplate.

Drive device is consist of : motor,gearbox/gear reducer,coupling,baseplate.
Auger’s Trough ：
Auger’s trough is made of sheet metal plate,and it is divided into three types : U shape trough ,V shape trough and tubular shape trough.
The shape of trough is made as per customer’s requirements.
For single shaft driving auger : The transporting length is less than 35m for U trough auger.
For twin shafts driving auger: The transporting length is bigger than 35m for U trough auger.

Tubular shell has better sealing than U trough structure. So people often called the tubular auger by sealing auger.The clearance between trough and screw flights are determined by friction between screw diameter and materials.www.wxconveyor.com
